A Wired Bus: Thanks to a $15,000 grant from local businessman Daniel Schlafly, the St. Louis public school district now has a bus equipped with TV monitors and videocassette recorders that show videotapes to student passengers. The bus is an experiment to see if letting students watch videos during trips curbs rowdiness. So far, so good, St. Louis officials report. Buses are a lot quieter, they say, and the number of reported disciplinary problems is way down.
